We have had such a great 🔴RED RIBBON WEEK🔴 at ILIS! From hats to jammies, sports jerseys, school colors and tie dyed ‘fits, we were all promoting a lifestyle of being drug free. Thank you to our Warriors for looking incredible and showing up with the 💙school spirit💛!

TODAY IS THE DAY! Chick Fil A Chicken Biscuits are on sale in the Car Rider Line! $5 a biscuit, while supplies last. All proceeds stay in house and benefit ILIS initiatives!

Tomorrow Morning we got breakfast covered! Get the kids out of the house a little early and pick up a chicken biscuit in the car rider line!
We appreciate all your support!

Hey Parents!
Here's what's going on in Math and Science at ILIS!

Our Favorite Friday of the Month is THIS WEEK!! We will see you in the car rider line!!

What a Gas! Ms. Phillips’ class conducted a science experiment to make a chemical reaction with baking soda, water bottles, vinegar & balloons! 🧪 🎈
5th Grade Parents- ask your student about chemical and physical reactions!

Don't Forget on Wednesday, aka tomorrow, we wear PINK! Come dressed in pink to show your support for Breast Cancer Awareness Month!

Happy Sunday, Families! Check out what was happening In Mrs. Roberts' and Mrs. Goodwin's science class last week! Their student Gino took it upon himself to create a presentation, complete with two review games, about what they have been learning in science. Everyone was impressed and enjoyed taking turns at the Smart Board playing the games.
Great job, Gino!! 💙💛

We have a fun update from the Encore department! Journalism students learned how to operate a DSLR camera and compose a good photograph. Students were then tasked with the challenge of creating a photo for the following categories. Artistic, action, frame, leading lines, group and portrait. These are some photographs that were taken while they were working and also some of their amazing work!

Make sure you check your closet for pink, because on Wednesday that's what we're wearing in support of Breast Cancer Awareness Month!!

Last week Mrs. Driggers' Science classes continued to learn about matter by exploring a chemical reaction between 2 common household items: vinegar and baking soda! Carbon Dioxide filled the balloons and student excitement filled the classroom. Check out the video below to see their experiments in action!

Ms. Buck has a cool project going on in her class! She writes, "We have been learning about the different ways that heat transfers. One way is through the process of convection. Today students modeled convection currents by adding warm and cold water to a basin of water at room temperature. Students recorded their observations. Once they recorded their observations, students used their knowledge of density, convection, and their recent observations to explain how their model showed a convection current. Then students were shown a map of global ocean currents which they analyzed to connect the lab activity to the real world."
This is awesome! Thanks so much for sharing!

Big BIG thank you to DiNicola Remodeling for filling up our bellies this morning! There could not be a better way to end the week than with giant muffins, mountains of donuts and enough coffee to get us through the day. We enjoyed every bite! 😋💙💛

Congratulations to Ms. Compton and Ms. Arrowood's classes for being our top earners for 🔴BOOSTERTHON🔴!
Ms. Compton's students brought in $5400 and Ms. Arrowood's brought in $6000! 😲We will be able to do so much with these funds and are very grateful to everyone who donated!
Being our top 5th and 6th grade classes come with bragging rights, sure, but more importantly? It comes with a PIZZA party! PTO provided Dominos and Admin passed it out to the happy kids. 😋
.We shot for the moon with our goal of $75,000, and you helped us surpass it. Again- thank you to all of our Warrior Families for your donations!

We have another post from 6th Grade!! Woohoo!!
Mrs. Arner’s class worked hard last week on creating display boards about an Ancient River Valley that they learned about. They had to research information about the GRAPES of each civilization and put it together as a presentation.
Looks awesome, Warriors! Great job!

Join us for our first PINK OUT as ILIS shows it's support for Breast Cancer Awareness Month! We will be tickled, well, pink(!) to see everyone in their shades of fuschia, rose, cotton candy, magenta, watermelon, bubblegum, blush, strawberry lemonade, flamingo, etc. on Wednesday, 10/18!

Ms. Kiel wanted to share what's going on in her science class, too!
She writes, "We all had a great day today in Mrs Kiel’s class!
We are learning about Heat Transfer. Our goal is to keep hot liquids hot.
Students were tasked to create a prototype of an insulator that can be used by humans living in extremely cold environments.
We are halfway through testing and making iterations until we land on the final container."
We hope you let us know the results!! 💙💛

Check out our 2023 Boosterthon Color Run video! We hope you have as much fun reliving the day as we did. We are so proud of our Warriors. They fundraised like rock stars AND had a blast at the color run!
(Don't worry- The big photo dump is on deck!)
